Cracow University of Technology

Cracow University of Technology is a public university with over 60 years of academic tradition. At present CUT offers 19 courses within seven faculties:
Architecture
architecture and urban design, landscape architecture
Physics, Mathematics and Applied Computer Science
applied physics, mathematics, computer science
Electrical and Computer Engineering
electrical engineering, energetics (interfaculty course)
Civil Engineering
civil engineering, transport
Environmental Engineering
building and construction, environmental engineering, environment protection
Chemical Engineering and Technology
chemical technology, chemical and process engineering
Mechanical Engineering
automatic and robotics, materials science, mechanics and machine design, production management and engineering, biomedical engineering    
The teaching language is Polish. For international students the University offers preparatory courses including an intensive Polish language course. The preparatory programs can be tailored to individual students’ needs and last up to two semesters. At present, with about 1200 academic staff the university teaches about 16 000 students. Students may choose from 19 degree courses, both full-time and extramural studies, at 1st cycle (degree of BSc and the title of an engineer) and 2nd cycle studies (MSc). There is also a possibility of attending 3 rd cycle doctoral studies (PhD) and several postdiploma courses.
The university is involved in international cooperation based on bilateral agreements with various scientific institutions, universities, EU scientific-educational partnership programs,  common researches and student and staff exchange.
Cooperation with the industrial sector is also being developed. An important link provides the Technology Center (acting at the university) which is one of  four Innovation Relay Centers in Poland and also a Regional Contact Point.
Through the initiative of the university in 1997, on the property of the Czyżyny campus, a special  Economic Zone – the Cracow Technology Park was created. The facilities became a platform linking the Cracow scientific community to modern industry.
The Library of CUT offers all the services based on the latest technologies with collection  of 750 thousand volumes of books, patents and norms with additional 600 magazines both Polish and foreign. It also possesses an open public collection of electronic database and magazines from all over the world.
Other available facilities include: student clubs, art galleries, sports halls, sport & recreation centre (with 40 different sports disciplines) and student accommodation for about 2200 students.
